LinkedIn Ads Cost in 2026: CPC, CPM and Budgets for B2B

How LinkedIn ads pricing works: the auction, the three bidding strategies and what each one charges for, LinkedIn's minimum budgets, sourced 2025 B2B CPC, CPM and cost per lead medians, and three budget scenarios.

LinkedIn ads have no fixed price. You bid in an auction, and the cost to win depends on how many advertisers want the same audience. LinkedIn’s minimum is $10 a day per campaign. For 2025 B2B campaigns, Metadata measured median costs of $9.39 per click, $63.19 per 1,000 impressions and $202 per lead across 138 advertisers.

Those medians are a starting point. What you pay is set by three choices you make in Campaign Manager: the objective, the bidding strategy and the audience. This guide covers each one using LinkedIn’s own help pages, then the benchmark data, then three budget scenarios you can adapt. For the basics of the platform, see our glossary entry on LinkedIn ads.

How does LinkedIn ads pricing work?

Every LinkedIn ad goes through an auction. LinkedIn’s pricing help page says your ads compete “with other advertisers’ ad campaigns that have similar ad formats and target audiences,” that “the cost required to win the auction depends on the desirability of your target audience,” and that “the more relevant your ad, the lower the price you pay.”

What you are charged for (an impression, a click, a video view or a message send) is set by your ad set’s optimization goal and bidding strategy together. LinkedIn bills the spend that builds up on your payment method at regular intervals.

LinkedIn’s help pages now use new names. The level that holds the objective, budget, audience and bid is now called an ad set, and the level above it, which groups ad sets, is the campaign.

Which bidding strategy should you choose?

LinkedIn offers three bidding strategies. The one you pick decides both how the bid works and what you pay for, according to LinkedIn’s bidding strategies help page:

StrategyHow it worksWhat you are charged forObjectives
Maximum deliveryLinkedIn bids automatically and aims to spend your whole budget. No bid or cap to setImpressions (CPM)All objectives
Cost capYou set a cost per key result that LinkedIn tries to stay under on averageImpressions (CPM)Brand awareness, website visits, engagement, video views, lead generation
ManualYou set the bid for a key resultClicks (CPC), impressions (CPM), video views (CPV) or sends (CPS), depending on objective, format and optimization goalAll objectives

Three consequences are worth knowing before you launch:

  • Pay-per-click is only on manual bidding. If you choose maximum delivery or cost cap, you pay per impression even on a website visits ad set.
  • Cost cap is an average. LinkedIn describes it as an average the system tries to stay under, so single results can cost more than the cap.
  • The bid range shown is an estimate. For cost cap and manual bidding, Campaign Manager shows a recommended range that LinkedIn says “represents an estimate of the current competing costs or bids.” LinkedIn also says there is no set cost per result.

Sponsored messages (Conversation and Message ads) on manual bidding are charged per send. LinkedIn’s help pages do not publish a standard send price, so we have left one out.

What are LinkedIn’s minimum budgets?

RuleAmountSource
Minimum daily budget, any ad format$10LinkedIn budget guide
Minimum lifetime budget, new campaign not yet started$100LinkedIn budget guide
Suggested starting daily budget$25 for new advertisers, $50 to $100 for existing advertisersLinkedIn budget guide
Minimum campaign daily budget with Dynamic Group Budget$30 (a lifetime example: $300 for 10 days left)LinkedIn help: Dynamic Group Budget
Unspent budget needed to launch a new ad set in a campaign with a total budget$100LinkedIn help: campaign errors

Amounts are in USD; other currencies have their own equivalents. All the rules above were re-checked on LinkedIn’s pages on 30 October 2026. Two budget rules from LinkedIn’s budget and schedule help page also affect cost: a daily budget is “the average amount you’d like to spend per day,” not a hard daily cap, and ad sets start at 12:00 AM UTC on the start date.

The $10 minimum is enough to launch and too little to test. At the $9.39 B2B median CPC, $10 a day is about one click a day and roughly 32 a month, which is too few to judge an ad.

What do LinkedIn ads cost in 2025 and 2026?

Metadata’s 2026 B2B Paid Media Benchmark is the largest public B2B dataset we found: $57.6 million of 2025 ad spend across 153 B2B advertisers, reported as medians across advertisers.

ChannelMedian CPCMedian CPMMedian CTRMedian cost per leadAdvertisers
LinkedIn$9.39$63.190.67%$202138
Google Ads$9.76$617.916.33%$52456
Instagram$2.82$18.250.65%$13849
Facebook$1.95$15.500.79%$14571

Google’s CPM is high because search impressions are only shown when someone types a matching query; Metadata notes they are not comparable with social impressions. Figures re-checked against Metadata’s report on 30 October 2026.

Metadata also followed LinkedIn spend through to the CRM:

LinkedIn outcome (2025 campaigns)LinkedInAll CRM-connected advertisers
Cost per customer$58,572$31,939
Sourced pipeline per $1 of spend10.2x7.97x
Close rate19.5%22.3%
Advertisers9490

LinkedIn sourced more pipeline per dollar than the all-advertiser figure, and each customer cost almost twice as much. The rows come from different groups of advertisers, and the lower close rate explains only part of the gap, so read them as two separate facts. Two other datasets add detail. Dreamdata’s 2026 LinkedIn Ads Benchmarks Report puts LinkedIn’s average CPC at €5.98 against €1.60 on Meta, and its cost per company influenced at €70.11 against €128.70 on Meta and €110.37 on Google Search. Kiin’s LinkedIn CPM benchmark found a $65 median CPM for thought leader ads on the engagement objective and $48.80 for company page sponsored content in the same accounts.

What changes the cost of LinkedIn ads?

Audience size. Kiin’s data shows median CPM moving sharply with the size of the audience:

Audience sizeEngagement CPMBrand awareness CPM
Under 10,000$110.66$127.28
10,000 to 30,000$82.66$64.00
30,000 to 100,000$66.68$40.55
100,000 or more$104.77$29.46

Source: Kiin, LinkedIn CPM benchmarks, September 2025 to September 2026, medians in USD, re-checked on 30 October 2026. Some cells rest on small groups of accounts, so read them as a direction.

On the brand awareness objective, an audience of 100,000 or more cost less than a quarter of an audience under 10,000. An account-based campaign aimed at a few hundred companies should be budgeted at the top of the table.

Objective. In Kiin’s data, brand awareness reached 77% more people per dollar than engagement overall, and on cold audiences of 30,000 or more its CPM was 59% lower. Pick the objective for the result you want, because it also decides what the auction optimizes for.

Format and form. Metadata found LinkedIn lead gen forms cost $193 per lead against $346 for landing page campaigns, and document ads $142 per lead against $200 for single image and $265 for video. Cheaper form leads still need checking against opportunity rates in your CRM.

Bidding strategy. Maximum delivery spends the budget but gives up price control; manual bidding gives control and can under-deliver if the bid is low. LinkedIn notes that higher bids or caps make an ad set more competitive, which makes spending the full budget more likely.

How much should you budget for LinkedIn ads?

Illustrative, not a benchmark. The three scenarios below apply the 2025 Metadata medians to round monthly budgets. Your own CPC and lead cost will differ, so replace the medians with your numbers in our CPC calculator and CPM calculator.

Monthly budgetClicks at $9.39Impressions at $63.19 CPMLeads at $202Pipeline at 10.2xWhat it is good for
$300 ($10 a day minimum)about 32about 4,7501 to 2about $3,060Checking that tracking and forms work
$5,000about 533about 79,100about 25about $51,000One audience, two or three ads, a readable monthly test
$15,000about 1,597about 237,400about 74about $153,000Separate campaigns for awareness, retargeting and conversion

At the $58,572 LinkedIn cost per customer in that table, the $5,000 scenario would need almost a year to produce one customer if your numbers matched the benchmark. That is the test for whether LinkedIn fits: the channel works when one closed deal is worth more than the months of spend it takes to win it. Put your margin and win rate into our ROAS calculator to see the pipeline per dollar you need to break even.

How do you keep LinkedIn ad costs under control?

  • Match the objective to the result. Website visits and lead generation for demand capture, brand awareness for reach on a fixed account list, engagement when you want a retargeting pool.
  • Use manual CPC for broad audiences. It is the only way to cap what you pay for a click.
  • Test lead gen forms and document ads against landing pages. Metadata’s data shows both cost less per lead; check that those leads turn into opportunities.
  • Budget small account lists at higher CPMs. Kiin’s audience-size table is the planning range.
  • Judge every campaign on cost per opportunity. CPC and CPM tell you the price of attention, not whether the right people paid it.

Frequently asked

How much do LinkedIn ads cost?

There is no fixed price: LinkedIn sells ads in an auction. Metadata's benchmark of 2025 B2B campaigns found medians of $9.39 per click, $63.19 per 1,000 impressions and $202 per lead across 138 LinkedIn advertisers. Your cost depends mostly on how many advertisers want the same audience and on your bidding strategy.

What is the minimum budget for LinkedIn ads?

LinkedIn's own budget guide sets a $10 minimum daily budget for any ad format and a $100 minimum lifetime budget for a new campaign that has not started. Campaigns that use Dynamic Group Budget need at least $30 a day. LinkedIn suggests $25 a day for new advertisers. In practice, $10 a day buys about one click a day at the B2B median CPC.

How much should a B2B company spend on LinkedIn ads per month?

Work back from leads. At the 2025 B2B median of $202 per lead, 25 leads a month costs about $5,000. Much below that, a month gives you too few leads to compare two campaigns with any confidence. Then check the result against your deal size: Metadata's median LinkedIn cost per customer was $58,572.

Is LinkedIn more expensive than Google Ads?

Per click, about the same for B2B: Metadata's 2025 medians are $9.39 on LinkedIn and $9.76 on Google Ads. Per lead, LinkedIn was cheaper in that dataset ($202 against $524). Per impression LinkedIn is far more expensive than Meta ($63.19 against $15.50 on Facebook).

Should you bid CPC or CPM on LinkedIn?

Maximum delivery and cost cap bidding both charge per impression (CPM). Only manual bidding lets you pay per click, per view or per send, depending on the objective and format. Choose manual CPC when you want control over the price of a visit and the audience is broad; use maximum delivery when the audience is a small account list and you need the budget to spend.

How do you lower the cost of LinkedIn ads?

In Metadata's 2025 data, LinkedIn lead gen forms cost $193 per lead against $346 for campaigns sending traffic to a landing page, and document ads cost $142 per lead against $200 for single image and $265 for video. Kiin found brand awareness CPMs fall from $127.28 for audiences under 10,000 people to $29.46 at 100,000 or more. Test those levers before cutting bids.
