Short answer: Both platforms run email sequences, calls, meetings and deal tracking well, and most teams would be fine on either. Two things separate them in 2026. Salesloft costs less at the median contract, $30,740 a year against Outreach’s $45,600 in Vendr’s purchase data, and it now sells Clari’s forecasting after the two companies agreed to merge. Outreach prices its AI by consumption credits on top of seats and sells engagement, deals and forecasting as one company without a merger underway. Whichever you pick, review how it connects to your CRM, because Salesloft’s Drift integration was the entry point for a large data theft in 2025.
A note on who is writing this. When we checked Google for “outreach vs salesloft” in October 2026, the top results came from Reddit, G2, Clay, Avoma and SalesRobot, each of the last three selling its own tool alongside, plus Salesloft’s own comparison page. None of the ones we read used contract data, and only some mentioned the Clari merger. We sell neither platform and have no affiliate deal with either.

How much do Outreach and Salesloft cost?
Neither vendor publishes prices. The best public benchmark is Vendr, a software buying service that tracks real contracts. Its data, updated February 2026:
| Outreach | Salesloft | |
|---|---|---|
| Median annual contract | $45,600 | $30,740 |
| Lowest recorded | $8,660 | $5,152 |
| Highest recorded | $215,400 | $146,494 |
| Purchases analyzed | 919 | 710 |
The medians mix team sizes and modules, so they do not tell you what your team will pay. They do tell you where negotiations start, and that the gap between the two is wide enough to ask both for a quote.
How Outreach prices AI. Outreach’s pricing page says it combines seat-based access with consumption-based AI credits. Its four packages include different amounts: 10,000 AI credits on Amplify Essentials, 25,000 on Core, 50,000 on Plus and 100,000 on Pro. Ask how many credits your planned workflows use in a month, and what happens when you run out, before you sign.
What changed at Salesloft
Salesloft has changed more than Outreach in the last three years, and three events matter for a buyer.
Vista Equity Partners took majority control in 2022. Vista’s majority investment valued Salesloft at $2.3 billion, according to DLA Piper, which advised Salesloft, in January 2022.
Salesloft combined with Drift in 2024. Drift, a conversational marketing and chat company, joined Salesloft in February 2024, according to Kirkland & Ellis.
The Drift integration was breached in 2025. From August 8 to at least August 18, 2025, attackers used OAuth tokens from the Drift integration to export data from customers’ Salesforce instances, The Hacker News reported, citing Google’s threat intelligence team, which said it knew of over 700 potentially affected organizations. Salesloft revoked the Drift connections to Salesforce, and Salesforce removed Drift from its AppExchange.
Clari and Salesloft agreed to merge in 2025. The merger was announced in August 2025, combining Salesloft’s engagement tools with Clari’s forecasting, with over 5,000 customers between them, according to Forrester. Salesloft’s site now lists Clari Forecast among its products.
What this means for a buyer: if you already use Clari for forecasting, Salesloft is the natural pairing. If you do not, ask Salesloft for its product roadmap for the next twelve months and whether your contract price is protected as products are combined.
Features: where each one is stronger
Both cover the core. Sequencing, conversation intelligence and deal management appear on both vendors’ own product and pricing pages. Feature lists alone will not decide this.
Outreach is stronger as one vendor across the cycle. Its top package adds forecasting and self-service forecast configuration to engagement and deal management, so one contract covers prospecting through forecast.
Salesloft is stronger if forecasting means Clari. After the merger, Salesloft sells Clari Forecast alongside Cadence, Conversations, Deals and Rhythm, and Drift for website chat. Teams that already run Clari can consolidate.
Security review matters more than it did. Salesforce described the Drift incident as a compromise of the app’s connection, not of Salesforce itself. Whatever platform you choose, list every app connected to your CRM, limit each one’s access to the objects it needs, and know how to revoke tokens quickly.
Which should you choose?
Choose Outreach if:
- You want one vendor for engagement, deal management and forecasting.
- You are comfortable budgeting AI by consumption credits on top of seats.
- You prefer a vendor whose product line is not being merged right now.
Choose Salesloft if:
- Contract cost is the deciding factor; its median contract is about a third lower in Vendr’s data.
- You already use Clari, or want Clari’s forecasting with your engagement tool.
- You want website chat (Drift) from the same vendor, with a security review of the integration.
Consider neither, for now, if you have fewer than about five sellers. A tool with contacts and sequences in one product at a published price, such as Apollo, covers the same core job for far less. Our Apollo vs ZoomInfo comparison covers that side of the market.
Where Growigami fits
We do not resell either platform. Our ABM and outbound service runs on the tools you already pay for: each week we research your target accounts, write a message for each contact, review the drafts before anything is sent, and route replies to your sellers the same day, from Outreach, Salesloft or whichever sequencer your team uses.
Frequently asked
Is Outreach or Salesloft cheaper?
Neither publishes prices. Vendr's data, updated February 2026, puts the median Salesloft contract at $30,740 a year across 710 purchases and the median Outreach contract at $45,600 a year across 919 purchases. Contract size depends on seats, modules and, for Outreach, how many AI credits you buy.
Who owns Outreach?
Outreach is a private, venture-backed company. Its last announced round was a $200 million Series G in June 2021 that valued it at more than $4.4 billion, co-led by Premji Invest and STEADFAST Capital Ventures, with existing investors including Salesforce Ventures, Lone Pine Capital and Sands Capital.
Who owns Salesloft?
Vista Equity Partners took a majority stake in Salesloft at a $2.3 billion valuation in January 2022. Salesloft combined with Drift in February 2024, and in August 2025 Clari and Salesloft announced an agreement to merge. Salesloft's site now sells Clari Forecast alongside its own products.
What is better than Salesloft?
For most mid-market and enterprise sales teams, the main alternative is Outreach. Smaller teams that want contact data and sequences in one tool can choose Apollo instead, at published prices from $49 per seat per month billed annually.
Is Outreach a CRM?
No. Outreach is a sales engagement platform that sits on top of a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot. It runs sequences, calls, meetings and deal and forecast workflows, and syncs activity with the CRM, which stays the system of record.
What was the Salesloft Drift breach?
In August 2025, attackers used OAuth tokens from Salesloft's Drift chat integration to export data from customers' Salesforce instances. Google's threat intelligence team said it knew of over 700 potentially affected organizations. Salesloft and Salesforce revoked the tokens, and Salesforce removed Drift from its AppExchange.
