Short answer: The main ZoomInfo alternatives are Apollo, Cognism, Lusha, UpLead, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Clay, and the right one depends on why you are leaving. Price and email-first outbound point to Apollo. Weak European coverage points to Cognism. Sellers who look up a few contacts a day point to Lusha or UpLead. If the only complaint is the renewal price, negotiate first, because a clean migration takes about four months of testing, field mapping and running both tools.
A note on who is writing this. When we checked Google for “zoominfo alternatives” in October 2026, four of the top five results came from companies selling a replacement, and each listed itself first or called itself the best pick. We sell no data and have no affiliate deal with any vendor here. Prices were read on each vendor’s own pricing page on October 25, 2026, in US dollars. For a head-to-head on one alternative, see Apollo vs ZoomInfo. For how data providers differ by type, price per contact and tested email accuracy, see our B2B data providers comparison. This page covers the switch itself.
Why do teams look for ZoomInfo alternatives?
Five reasons come up, and each one points to a different replacement:
- The renewal price. ZoomInfo does not publish prices. Vendr, which tracks software contracts, reports that ZoomInfo renewals often include 5% to 10% annual price escalation (page updated February 2026).
- Coverage outside the US. Teams selling into Europe find fewer contacts and mobile numbers for their list than for US accounts.
- Paying for data the team does not use. A five-seller team that sends email sequences may export a fraction of the credits in its contract.
- A second tool for outreach. ZoomInfo sells outreach and conversation tools as separate products, so many teams run it next to a sequencer they also pay for.
- Gaps in one database. No single provider covers every account. Teams that keep hitting empty records want a way to query several sources.
Write down which of these is yours before you book a demo. The reason decides the shortlist.
Which ZoomInfo alternative fits which reason?
| Your reason for leaving | Alternative to test first | Published price (October 25, 2026) | What you give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price, and outbound is mostly email | Apollo | Free plan; Basic $49 and Professional $79 per seat per month, billed annually | Fewer direct dials than ZoomInfo claims; a smaller database by the vendors’ own counts |
| Thin coverage in Europe, need mobile numbers | Cognism | Not published; Standard and Pro packages each include 5 seats | Another annual-style negotiation; no public price to compare |
| Sellers look up a few contacts a day | Lusha | Free plan; Starter from $37.45 a month billed yearly | Bulk list building and intent depth |
| Want to pay month to month for email and mobile | UpLead | Essentials $99 a month (170 credits) or $74 billed annually; Plus $199 or $149 | Volume: credits run out fast for a team that exports thousands a month |
| Prospecting starts on LinkedIn | LinkedIn Sales Navigator | Core $119.99 a month or $1,079.88 a year per license; Advanced $159.99 or $1,799.88 | No email addresses or phone numbers exported in bulk; it is a search and messaging tool |
| Gaps in any single database | Clay | Free plan; Launch $185 a month or $167 billed annually; Growth $495 or $446 | Build time: someone has to design and maintain the workflows |
Apollo, Lusha, UpLead and Sales Navigator publish self-serve prices. Cognism, like ZoomInfo, prices on a call. That split matters at renewal time: a published price lets you budget the switch before you talk to anyone.
What does a ZoomInfo contract let you do when you leave?
Read three documents before you plan the move: your order form, any amendments, and ZoomInfo’s published License Terms and Conditions (version of May 1, 2025, read October 25, 2026). The published terms say:
| Question | What ZoomInfo’s License Terms say | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Can you cancel mid-term? | No. Section 3.1 says the agreement “is not cancellable” and stays in effect until it expires or is terminated under its terms | Section 3.1 |
| When can either side terminate? | For a material breach not cured within 21 days of written notice, or by mutual agreement | Section 3.2 |
| When are fees due? | On signing the order form | Section 4.1 |
| How does renewal work? | The terms do not set it: the initial term and any renewal are set in your order form | Your order form |
| Can you keep the data you exported? | Section 3.3.1 lets you keep using data obtained during the term, subject to the agreement. You must stop using ZoomInfo’s software, and ZoomInfo may close your accounts and destroy what you uploaded to its systems, so export your own lists first | Section 3.3.1 |
| What ongoing duty comes with that data? | Check ZoomInfo’s removal list at least monthly and delete listed records unless you have your own lawful basis | Section 5.4 |
The renewal clause is where teams get caught. Vendr reports that auto-renewal clauses are common on ZoomInfo contracts, with notice periods of 30 to 90 days, and recommends negotiating for 90 to 120. Find your date in the order form today and put it in two calendars.
Some articles say you must delete all ZoomInfo data when you leave. The published terms do not say that, but a negotiated contract can. Ask your legal team to confirm before you plan the migration around it.
Should you negotiate the renewal instead of switching?
If your only complaint is price, yes, at least first. Vendr reports that buyers who negotiate ZoomInfo save 22% on average. Vendr puts the discount at 15% to 30% off the first quote for a two- or three-year commitment and 10% to 20% for paying the year upfront. Its data across 1,578 purchases puts the median contract at $33,500 a year.
A credible alternative is your strongest lever. Run the 200-account test from our Apollo vs ZoomInfo comparison on one or two alternatives before the renewal call, so you can show what you would get elsewhere. Then ask for three things: a lower price, a smaller credit bundle that matches what you exported last year, and a longer notice period.
Switch instead when the reason is coverage, workflow or a team that no longer calls. A discount does not fix a database that misses your European accounts.
How do you switch off ZoomInfo without losing pipeline?
Start 120 days before the renewal date.
- Day 120: find the deadline. Read the order form for the renewal date and notice period. Count back and set the date you must send notice.
- Day 110: measure what you use. Pull last year’s exports by seller, the share with phone numbers, and which fields your CRM, routing and enrichment depend on. ZoomInfo data often feeds lead routing and scoring through the CRM integration.
- Day 100: test two alternatives. Export the same 200 target accounts from each, verify the emails with a separate checker and call a sample of the mobile numbers.
- Day 75: map the fields. List every CRM field ZoomInfo fills and the field in the new tool that replaces it. Turn off ZoomInfo’s write-back for records the new tool will own.
- Before the notice date: send notice in writing, as the order form requires, and keep the confirmation.
- Final 30 days: run both. Point new leads at the new tool, keep ZoomInfo for lookups, and check that routing and reports still work.
- After expiry: set up the removal-list check each month for the ZoomInfo data you keep, per Section 5.4.
What does a switch look like for a small team?
Illustrative, not a benchmark. The company is fictional.
Fernhill Analytics sells reporting software to logistics companies in the US and UK. It has five sellers on a ZoomInfo contract that renews on March 1. Its reasons for leaving: the renewal quote went up, sellers mostly email, and UK mobile numbers are thin.
| Fernhill’s need | Option it tests | Year one software cost |
|---|---|---|
| Email contacts and sequences for 5 sellers | Apollo Professional | 5 x $79 x 12 = $4,740 |
| UK mobile numbers for the 2 sellers who call | Cognism | Priced on a call; asked for a quote on its UK accounts |
| Fallback: stay on ZoomInfo | Renegotiated renewal | The quote, minus whatever discount it wins |
Fernhill exports 200 of its UK and US target accounts from each tool. Apollo covers its US accounts well, and Cognism returns more working UK mobile numbers. It sends written notice to ZoomInfo 90 days out, moves the three email-first sellers to Apollo, and asks Cognism to price a two-seat package for the callers. The remaining question for Fernhill is whether two tools cost less than the renewal. The test on its own accounts gives it the coverage side of that answer, and the Cognism quote gives the price side.
Where Growigami fits
We do not sell data or resell any of these tools. Our ABM and outbound service runs on the data tool you keep or move to: each week we research the target accounts, write a message for each contact, and your seller reviews before anything is sent. Our CRM and routing service covers the field mapping and routing checks a data migration needs.
Frequently asked
What is the best alternative to ZoomInfo?
It depends on why you are leaving. For price and email-first outbound, Apollo, which publishes plans from $49 per seat per month billed annually. For European data and mobile numbers, Cognism. For sellers who look up a few contacts a day, Lusha or UpLead. For LinkedIn-led prospecting, Sales Navigator from $119.99 a month. For filling gaps across many providers, Clay.
Who are ZoomInfo's main competitors?
In contact data: Apollo, Cognism, Lusha, UpLead, Seamless.AI and Lead411. In company data and intelligence: D&B Hoovers and SalesIntel. In account intent and ABM: 6sense and Demandbase. Clay competes from a different angle, by querying many of these providers in one workflow instead of selling one database.
Can I cancel a ZoomInfo contract early?
Usually not. ZoomInfo's License Terms and Conditions (version of May 1, 2025) say the agreement is not cancellable and stays in effect until it expires or is terminated for an uncured material breach. Renewal dates and notice periods are set in your order form, so read that document for the exact deadline.
Do you have to delete ZoomInfo data when you leave?
Not all of it, under the published terms. Section 3.3.1 of ZoomInfo's License Terms lets a licensee keep using data obtained during the term, subject to the agreement, and Section 5.4 requires you to check ZoomInfo's removal list at least monthly and delete those records unless you have your own lawful basis. Your order form or a negotiated contract can say otherwise, so check it.
Is RocketReach better than ZoomInfo?
We did not test or price RocketReach for this guide. Like Lusha and UpLead, it sells contact lookups on self-serve plans, which suits teams that need fewer contacts than a ZoomInfo contract includes. Run the same 200-account test on it before you choose.
Is Zoom the same company as ZoomInfo?
No. Zoom (Zoom Communications) makes video meeting software. ZoomInfo is a B2B data company that began as DiscoverOrg and took the ZoomInfo name after buying Zoom Information in 2019. In 2025 it moved its Nasdaq ticker from ZI to GTM.
