internal stakeholders in a typical B2B buying decision, plus nine outside influencers (Forrester, January 2026)
Why it matters
A typical B2B purchase has 13 internal stakeholders
Forrester's State of Business Buying 2026 counts 13 internal stakeholders and nine external influencers in a typical decision, and more for complex purchases. Procurement is a decision-maker in 53% of buying cycles. Each of them brings a different question, and Forrester finds that genAI search is where B2B buyers now start.

A B2B SEO agency gets a company that sells to other businesses found by the people who decide each purchase, on Google and in AI answers. There are a lot of them: a typical B2B buying decision includes 13 internal stakeholders and nine outside influencers (Forrester, January 2026). Growigami publishes pages for each of them, 200 a month for $1,999.
Your CRO builds the search process and writes the first pages by hand with your expert. What is B2B SEO?
B2B SEO is search work for companies that sell to other businesses, where one sale can take months and pass through engineering, finance, procurement and IT. The searches are fewer than in consumer markets and each one is worth more. They are also specific: a part number, a standard, a certification, a rival the buyer already uses.
Most guides on the results page assume the seller is a software company. Software sells through its own page types, such as comparisons against named rivals. Our SaaS SEO agency page covers those. A manufacturer, a distributor or a services firm sells through specifications, terms and proof of past work, so its pages answer a different set of people.
Why is SEO important for B2B companies?
Because a B2B purchase has more readers than any sales team can brief. Forrester’s State of Business Buying 2026 counts 13 internal stakeholders and nine external influencers in a typical decision. Procurement is a decision-maker in 53% of buying cycles and is involved from the start.
Its 2024 edition found that 89% of purchases involve two or more departments and that 86% stall during the buying process. When a deal stalls, the buying group goes back to its questions, and your site either answers them or leaves the answer to a rival.
Which pages does each person in the buying group need?
Plan the pages by person, then by keyword. Forrester counts the people. The match of each person to page types is Growigami’s own planning map, so test it against your won and lost deals:
Person in the buying group
What they need to know
Pages that answer it
The user: an engineer, plant manager or operations lead
Does it do the job, and does it fit what we run today
Cost-of-the-problem pages, case studies with figures
Finance
What it costs over the contract
Pricing explainers, total-cost pages
Procurement
Terms, certifications, how you compare with the incumbent
Comparison pages, certification and policy pages, vendor FAQs
IT, security, legal or compliance
How data and risk are handled
Security, data and compliance pages
Outside influencers: consultants, peers, analysts
Who else uses it, and how it went
Case studies, industry pages, third-party listings
The best source for these pages is already in your files. Your RFP answers and security questionnaires list the questions procurement and IT ask, word for word. Lost-deal notes in your CRM show which question went unanswered.
Why does B2B SEO now include AI answers?
Because buyers now ask an assistant first, and a top-ten ranking alone does not decide what Google’s AI Overviews quote. Forrester’s 2026 report says genAI searches are the starting point for B2B buyers. Software buyers show the same shift. In G2’s March 2026 survey of 1,076 of them, 51% begin with an AI chatbot more often than with Google. 69% chose a different vendor than planned because of a chatbot’s guidance.
Ranking and being cited are separate results:
Fewer clicks. In a Pew Research Center study of 900 US adults’ Google searches in March 2025, users clicked a traditional result in 8% of visits with an AI summary. Without one, they clicked in 15%.
Different sources. Ahrefs studied 4 million URLs cited in Google’s AI Overviews across 863,000 searches. In its March 2026 update, 37.1% of cited URLs also ranked in the top 10 organic results for the same search.

A person on your team merges each batch
RevenueZen’s own B2B SEO page puts its campaigns at $6,500 to $9,000 on average for the clients who see the best results, without naming the period. Its pricing page says onboarding takes 30 to 45 days and 6 to 8 hours of your time in the first month, and that a custom GPT drafts each piece from expert interviews before its editors review it. An article and a page are different units, so get one finished example from each firm before you weigh their counts.
What Growigami runs for B2B marketing teams
Each week, AI agents choose the next pages from search data and your buyers’ questions. They write them from what your expert said on a short call. Every figure is traced to its source. A person on your team reads the batch and merges it into your site, and the new pages go live with links from older ones. Your CRO, who built the process, set the rules: which questions earn a page and what each page must answer.

What the week holds:
Monday. The week’s topics come from search data and buyer questions.
Tuesday. Your engineer, product lead or partner answers a few questions on a short call.
Wednesday. Drafts are written and checked for facts and voice.
Thursday. Pages go live, linked from the older pages on the same subject.
Friday. We check rankings and AI citations, and the pages that slipped go back for a refresh.
Once a month, the same buyer questions go to ChatGPT and Perplexity, and you see which answers name you and which name a rival. The agents keep a list of every page already live, so each new page answers a question the site has not covered. The AI search and SEO service page lists what each size includes.
A CRO review is optional and extra: $1,499 a month for a monthly review, or $2,999 for weekly ones. Your CRO goes through the numbers with you, the pipeline from search included. Without it, your team steers and we keep the process running.
How do you build a B2B SEO campaign?
Build it from the buying group outward:
Name the people. From closed and lost deals in your CRM, list who sat in each buying group, by role.
Collect their questions. RFPs, security questionnaires, sales call notes and support tickets hold them in the buyer’s own words.
Match each question to a page type. Use the map above: specs for users, terms for procurement, cost for finance.
Check demand. A keyword tool and Search Console show which questions people search for. AI assistants answer the rest, so check what they say too.
Write the answer first. Open each page with the answer, then the table or the figures behind it.
Link by subject. Every new page gets links from older pages on the same subject.
Why does technical SEO matter on a B2B website?
Because B2B sites often hide their best answers. Four faults to check for:
Specs locked in PDFs. Google can index a PDF, but a PDF has no room for the question it answers. Put the spec on a page and link the PDF from it.
Answers behind a form. A gated guide is invisible to search, whatever it says.
Catalogs with thousands of near-identical URLs. Filters and part variants can bury the pages that matter.
Regional sites that compete. Two country sites with the same page can compete for the same search.
Our search process handles the pages it publishes and the links between them. A catalog rebuild or a site migration is a job for your developers or a technical SEO specialist.
Search visits grew more than 10x at CapOut
We have built more than 3,600 indexed pages for clients. CapOut sells software that turns insurance estimate PDFs into Xactimate files for roofing and restoration contractors, a business-to-business sale. Weekly workshops drew product knowledge out of its CEO, Matt Fruge, so the pages said what only CapOut knows. Its estimated search visits grew more than 10x from April to their September 2026 peak (Ahrefs), and the number of terms it ranks for grew 12x.
We also ran CapOut’s outbound and built its website, so its revenue growth of nearly 5x, by Matt Fruge’s own count, is not search alone. Our search work so far has been for software and consumer sites. If you sell industrial products or professional services, weigh that, and ask us how the page types above would apply to your catalog.
How do you choose a B2B SEO agency?
There is no single best B2B SEO company, because the right one depends on what you sell and who signs. Ask each firm the same questions:
Question to ask
A strong answer
A weak answer
Who in our buying group are the pages for?
Named roles, each with page types
One persona, or keywords alone
Where do the questions come from?
Your RFPs, sales calls and lost deals
A keyword tool alone
Who checks technical facts?
Your expert, before anything publishes

How do you measure AI answers?

When a trade specialist or an in-house writer fits better
The search process fits a B2B company whose buyers ask many questions its site has yet to answer. Some companies are better served elsewhere:
A specialist agency for your industry. A firm that has worked in your trade for years brings trade press contacts and knows the standards buyers cite. Our search work so far has been for software and consumer sites.
An in-house technical writer. If your buyers ask a few dozen questions in depth, one writer who sits with your engineers can answer them better than 200 pages a month can.
A firm that bills month to month. RevenueZen offers month-to-month pricing. Our minimum is three months, then 30 days' notice.
Account-based outbound. If your market is a few hundred named accounts, reach them directly before you build search. Our account-based marketing page covers that process.
Talk to sales. Give us read access to your CRM, and within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.
Questions
Common questions about hiring a B2B SEO agency
What does a B2B SEO agency do?
It finds what the people in your buyers' buying groups search for, publishes pages that answer them and fixes what stops those pages ranking. Now it also checks whether AI assistants name you when buyers ask them. Growigami's search process publishes 200 pages a month for $1,999, written from your expert's calls and checked against their sources.
How much does a B2B SEO agency cost?
On their own pricing pages on 5 November 2026, Straight North's SEO prices started at $1,500 a month, and RevenueZen charged $3,000 a month for 4 articles, up to $15,000 for 12 to 15 or more. Growigami's search process is $1,999 a month for 200 pages. A process costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month. The minimum is three months, then 30 days' notice.
How long does B2B SEO take to work?
Months. RevenueZen says results typically start to gain traction around the six-month mark. Our first process is usually running about three weeks after you give us CRM access, and the first AI answer check comes within a week of starting. CapOut's estimated search visits grew more than 10x between April and their September 2026 peak, after its new pages went live.
How is B2B SEO different from SaaS SEO?
SaaS SEO is the software branch of it. A software company needs comparison, alternatives and integration pages for buyers who search by product name. A manufacturer or services firm sells through specs, standards, terms and proof of past work, so its pages answer engineers, procurement and finance. Both sell to buying groups over long cycles.
Does B2B SEO work for manufacturers and services firms?
It works when the people in the buying group search for what you sell, so check that in a keyword tool first. Our search results so far come from software and consumer sites, such as CapOut and SquareDash. Reworld, a waste-to-energy operator, came to us for outbound and CRM work. Ask us how the page types would apply to your catalog before you sign.
Can AI agents write accurate pages about a technical product?
Only from a source that knows the product. Each page starts from your expert's answers on a short call. Every figure is traced to its source before anyone reads the draft, and a person on your team merges each batch. Nothing publishes until that person merges it, and that person can be the expert.
Can you guarantee rankings or AI citations?
No. Rankings depend on your rivals and on Google's own changes, and AI answers shift with the wording of each question and each model update. We commit to the work and its record: 200 pages a month, each checked and merged by your team, and a monthly log of which AI answers name you.
