What an auditor asks for after a temperature excursion

The reading is the easy part. The auditor wants to see what your team did in the minutes after it.

Under the FDA Food Code, cold-held food stays at 41°F or below.1

Across 140 warehouses on Dockmere, the median excursion at a dock door was closed in 18 minutes in September.2

Fennick probes report every 60 seconds, so the timeline has no gaps.4

$120

top of the typical price of one exclusive insurance web lead (ActiveProspect, 2026)

Why it matters

An exclusive web lead can cost $120

ActiveProspect, which certifies consent for lead buyers, puts exclusive insurance web leads at $45 to $120 each in its September 2026 guide, and shared ones at $10 to $45 each. A shared lead is generally sold to several agents or carriers. Outreach from your own agency goes to the owners you choose, sent by your own seller.

Insurance agency marketing is the work that brings an agency new policyholders and commercial accounts: referrals, local search, outreach, ads and fast follow-up on quote requests. Bought leads are the shortcut, and ActiveProspect puts shared insurance web leads at $10 to $45 each in a September 2026 guide. Growigami runs each channel as a process from $1,999 a month, and nothing it finds is sold to another agent.

What is insurance agency marketing?

It is how an independent agency finds people and businesses to quote, and keeps the ones it writes. Personal lines buyers shop auto and home coverage, often online and often by price. Commercial lines buyers are business owners who renew each year and often carry several policies with one agent.

Three of the guides that rank for “insurance lead generation” come from companies that work through independent agents. Openly, a home insurance general agency, lists referrals first and says most independent agents rely on several lead sources at any given time. Atlas Insurance Brokers and Smart Choice, two agency networks, rank referrals and local search near the top. None of the three sells the work at a posted price.

What is the best way to generate insurance leads?

Those three guides put referrals at or near the top, and referrals arrive when clients choose to send them. For commercial lines, outreach is the source you control most. It starts with a list of local businesses that fit the accounts you write best, and a reason to write to each owner. Good reasons are public, such as a new location, a new fleet or a jump in hiring.

Speed matters too. Smart Choice puts it plainly: “the faster an agent responds to a new inquiry, the higher the chance of conversion.” Every quote request should get a reply the same day, with the requester’s business already researched.

Does insurance agency SEO work?

It works for searches made close to buying, such as a line of insurance plus a town. Questions like what general liability covers for a contractor work too. Each page needs facts only your agency can give: the lines you write, the towns you serve and the questions your CSRs answer every week. Search takes longer than outreach to bring in accounts, so it suits an agency that runs it beside a faster channel.

How much does it cost to buy insurance leads?

ActiveProspect, which sells consent verification to lead buyers, published typical ranges in its September 2026 insurance lead cost guide. It also cites a 2026 analysis of 27 lead vendors that found most insurance leads cost $5 to $50 each. We read these and three vendors’ own pricing pages on 4 November 2026.

A process costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month. Ad spend on the Paid process is paid at cost. A lead price and a monthly process buy different things. Compare the cost of each account you write, since a cheap lead that several agents call can cost more per policy than outreach your agency owns.

What rules apply to insurance agency ads?

Insurance advertising is regulated state by state. The NAIC’s model Unfair Trade Practices Act, which states adopt in their own form, bars insurance advertising that is “untrue, deceptive or misleading”. Its 2024 text names email and internet ads, and the NAIC’s 2026 state chart shows most states on an older version.

Calls and texts carry their own federal rules. One example: autodialed or prerecorded telemarketing calls to mobile numbers need prior express written consent under 47 CFR 64.1200(a)(2). The email we send falls under the federal CAN-SPAM Act, which makes no exception for business-to-business email and requires, among other things, a working opt-out and your agency’s postal address in each message.

So statements about coverage, carriers, savings and price stay as your agency states them, and nothing goes out that your compliance owner has not cleared. Your agency’s own counsel or compliance lead decides what your state allows. Growigami gives no legal advice.

What Growigami runs for an insurance agency

Each week AI agents research the businesses on your target list and draft a message for each owner. They also draft a reply to every quote request that comes in. Your CRO, who builds and proves each process, sets it up with you first and runs it by hand until it works. Your producers take the replies, run the reviews and write the policies.

Each of these is its own process, from $1,999 a month at its first size:

  • Outbound (Pipeline): 500 target accounts researched a month, with an email and LinkedIn message for each contact. Replies reach your producers the same day.
  • Inbound lead follow-up: up to 300 quote requests a month, each researched and scored, with a first reply drafted for the right producer or CSR, at any hour.
  • Search (Search): pages for each line you write and each town you serve. 200 pages a month, or 500 on the larger size, built to rank on Google and get cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity.
  • Partnerships (Partnerships): up to 40 companies a month that already serve your clients, such as accountants and mortgage lenders, researched and pitched as referral partners.
  • Paid (Paid and creative): Google Ads and your Google Business Profile, plus one more channel, with up to $25,000 a month in ad spend. AI agents draft the ads.

If you trade referrals with real estate agents, our real estate marketing services page shows what we run for them. For outbound in more depth, see our outbound lead generation services.

When bought leads or an agency platform fit better

  • You write mostly personal auto. Shoppers compare quotes online, and bought leads or a quoting site reach them faster than outreach to businesses.
  • You need a website and listings on a small budget. BrightFire and Agency Height sell sites and SEO for agencies from $29.99 to $290 a month. BrightFire runs with no contracts, and Agency Height bills its websites annually.
  • You want appointments set by phone. Abstrakt sells outbound appointment setting by phone, email, mail and LinkedIn from $5,000 a month. We send email and LinkedIn messages, and your producers make the calls.
  • Your carriers or network already supply leads. Openly says carrier partnerships and aggregator directories deliver leads with purchase intent. Use those first.

CapOut and NaviNurses: two companies shaped by insurance

Neither is an insurance agency, and both are past results, so neither is a forecast for yours. Both sell into markets shaped by insurance: claims for CapOut, and gaps in coverage for NaviNurses.

CapOut turns insurance estimate PDFs into Xactimate files for roofing and restoration contractors. Weekly workshops pulled product knowledge out of its CEO, so the pages said what only CapOut knows. Outbound ran beside them. Its estimated search visits grew more than 10x after the new pages went live (CapOut story).

NaviNurses lets families hire a registered nurse for home care that insurance does not cover. It had taken in everyone who called, mostly by word of mouth. We defined its ideal client and aimed webinars, content and outbound at that buyer, and its new sales team reached full quota in 60 days (NaviNurses story).

Talk to sales. Give us read access to your CRM, and within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.

Questions

Common questions about insurance agency marketing

What does an insurance marketing agency do?

It brings an insurance agency new clients through search, ads, social, email and its website. Vendors such as BrightFire and Agency Height sell websites and SEO by subscription, and lead vendors sell leads. Growigami runs each channel as a process your CRO builds with you, and replies and quote requests go to your producers the same day.

Is lead generation illegal?

No, but parts of it are regulated. Under 47 CFR 64.1200(a)(2), telemarketing calls to mobile numbers made with an autodialer or a prerecorded voice need the person's prior express written consent. Commercial email falls under the federal CAN-SPAM Act, and insurance ads fall under your state's own unfair trade practices law. We send email and LinkedIn messages, and your compliance owner decides what applies. Growigami gives no legal advice.

Should an agency buy leads or generate its own?

Openly says most independent agents rely on several lead sources at any given time. Bought leads arrive fast, and shared ones cost $10 to $45 each by ActiveProspect's 2026 estimate, but other agents are calling the same person. Leads you generate cost more to start and stay yours. For commercial lines, referrals and your own outreach come first, with bought leads where they convert.

Does insurance agency SEO work?

It works for searches made close to buying, such as a line of insurance plus a town. BrightFire sells an SEO bundle for agencies at $290 a month. Growigami's search process publishes 200 pages a month, or 500 on the larger size, covering your lines and towns, built to rank on Google and get cited by AI assistants. We make no ranking promise.

Can we see what goes out before it does?

Yes. Nothing goes out until the person your agency names has cleared it, and our team checks every draft first. Statements about coverage, carriers and price stay as your agency states them. Outreach goes out from your own domain, and replies land in your CRM.

Do you guarantee leads or policies?

No. We commit to the work at a posted price: 500 target accounts researched a month on outbound, or up to 300 quote requests followed up a month. An optional CRO review goes through the results with you each month for $1,499, or each week for $2,999.

How long is the contract?

The minimum is three months. After that, you can leave with 30 days' notice. Each process is $1,999 a month and costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month. BrightFire runs its services with no contracts, and bought leads are paid per lead.
