$525B

US yearly home improvement and repair spending (Harvard JCHS, Oct 2026)

Why it matters

Remodeling spending is flat near $525 billion

Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies expects yearly spending on improvements and repairs to owner-occupied homes to hover around $525 billion through the third quarter of 2027. It projects year-over-year growth of just 1.5% by then. In a market this flat, a contractor grows by winning a larger share of the same projects.

Contractor marketing services are the pages, ads and follow-up that bring a general contractor or remodeler project inquiries and keep each bid moving. In LocaliQ’s 2025 benchmarks, a general contractor’s search ad lead cost a median $165.67, the third highest of 16 home service categories. At Growigami your CRO builds each process and we run it weekly, from $1,999 a month.

What do contractor marketing services include?

The six first-page results we read sell much the same menu. It starts with a website, local SEO and the Google Business Profile, then adds Google Ads, Local Services Ads, social posts, review requests and a dashboard for leads. Marketing 360, Hook Agency and Contractor Growth Network also pitch AI search. Hook’s checklist for hiring an agency asks, “How will we show up in AI search?”

Four of the six post a price, from Footbridge Media’s $249 a month to Blue Corona’s $2,500 to over $10,000 a month. Two describe month-to-month terms, and All Contractor goes month to month after a first engagement. Hook’s list also splits the work in two. Residential jobs come from Google, the map pack and reviews. Commercial jobs are won through bid lists and relationships.

What Growigami runs for a general contractor

Each week, AI agents draft your project pages, your ads, a reply to each new inquiry and the follow-up on each open bid. Your CRO, a senior lead who has run sales and marketing teams, builds each process with you first and proves it works before the weekly work starts. Your team still walks each job and prices the bid. You read what each process produced in your CRM.

Each process is priced on its own, and you can start with any one of them:

  • Search (Search): pages that rank on Google and get cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity, written from what you already explain to homeowners at the estimate. For a remodeler, that means pages on project costs and permits in the towns you serve. The base size publishes 200 pages a month.
  • Paid ads (Paid and creative): Google and Meta campaigns on up to $25,000 a month in ad spend, with up to two new landing pages a month. A kitchen remodel ad lands on a kitchen remodel page. It also runs your Google Local Services Ads and your Business Profile work. AI agents draft the ads, and each week we move spend to the campaigns that book calls.
  • Inbound lead follow-up: each inquiry, up to 300 a month, is researched and sent to you or your estimator with a reply drafted, at any hour. An inquiry nobody has touched goes back to your office before it goes cold.
  • Deal follow-up: before each sales call, such as an estimate visit, you get a one-page brief. After it, a recap is drafted for you to send. Bids that went quiet or were lost get a new reason to talk. The base size covers up to 60 sales calls a month.
  • Outbound (Pipeline): for commercial work, 500 target accounts researched a month, such as developers and property managers, with a message written for each contact.

If your site needs replacing, the website is a one-time build at $7,499 and takes about four weeks.

How do general contractors get more leads?

They get found for the projects they want, then keep every inquiry and every bid moving after it arrives. A general contractor’s work comes through five doors:

  • Referrals from past clients, architects and designers. Footbridge Media says general contractors tell it, “I get most of my work from referrals, but it is not enough to grow.”
  • Search. A homeowner looks on Google, Google Maps or an AI assistant before calling. Google says local results rank mainly on “relevance, distance, and popularity,” and that no one can pay for a better local ranking.
  • Paid ads. Search ads and Local Services Ads catch homeowners who are looking now. Meta ads reach them before they search.
  • Lead marketplaces. Shared leads, which Marketing 360 says put you in a bidding race with other contractors for the same homeowner.
  • Bid lists and relationships, for commercial work.

Growigami runs search, paid ads and the follow-up every week. Referrals and bid lists stay with you.

How do commercial contractors get work?

Hook’s comparison names the commercial buyers: property managers, developers, owners and GCs. It says they find a contractor through referrals, bid lists, LinkedIn and searches for specific services. A list of buyers you can name in advance suits outbound. Our Outbound process researches the accounts on your list each week and finds a reason each one would talk now. It writes a message for each contact for you to send. Replies reach you the same day.

How do contractors show up in ChatGPT?

Hook’s FAQ says AI tools lean on your website, Google reviews, Business Profile, directories and mentions on trusted sites. Our Search process writes the pages those answers draw on, such as what a basement finish costs in your county. Each month we ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask and show you which answers name you and which name a competitor.

What happens to bids that go quiet?

LocaliQ, citing the New York Times, reports that renovation buyers now often request six or more bids for one job. It used to be one or two. Our Deal follow-up process drafts the recap after each estimate visit and goes back to quiet or lost bids with a new reason to talk.

What do general contractor leads cost?

LocaliQ’s 2025 benchmarks cover 3,211 US search ad campaigns run by its own home service customers from April 1, 2024 to March 21, 2025. LocaliQ reports medians, and its general contractor category is “Construction & Contractors (General).”

Search ads, medianGeneral contractorsRoofing and guttersAll home services
Cost per lead$165.67$228.15$90.92
Cost per click$5.31$10.70$7.85
Conversion rate2.61%3.70%7.33%
Click-through rate6.48%5.66%6.37%

General contractors paid the lowest median cost per click of the 16 categories and had the lowest conversion rate. Clicks are cheap, and few become an inquiry, so each of our campaigns sends its clicks to a page about that project. Across home services, cost per lead rose for 69% of businesses, by 10.51% on average from the year before.

Contractor PPC and agency prices

Running the ads costs extra on top of the clicks. Four of the six first-page results we read post their prices:

  • Footbridge Media: $249 a month for a website, local SEO, review tools and a CRM, with no contract and a 90-day money-back guarantee. Google Ads management is listed as a separate service.
  • Mass Monopoly: $999 a month, with a website build available for a one-time setup fee. Google Ads and Local Services Ads management are add-ons, and ad spend is separate.
  • Hook Agency: $3,750 a month for local SEO and AI search work, including the website. Google Ads with Local Services Ads starts at $2,000 a month plus ad spend.
  • Blue Corona: “from $2,500 to over $10,000 per month,” depending on the package.

At Growigami each process starts at $1,999 a month and costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month. Paid ads plus Deal follow-up comes to $3,998 a month after the first. Ad spend is paid at cost, and the full list is on our price list.

How long before marketing brings in work?

Paid ads move first. Hook’s first-year timeline says “Ads produce calls quickly,” while organic leads build over the months that follow. Mass Monopoly’s FAQ adds that neither leads nor booked jobs are guaranteed. At Growigami the first process is usually running about three weeks after you share CRM access, and you read what it produces in your CRM from then on.

SquareDash grew search with 1,403 homeowner pages

SquareDash gives homeowners a firm roof replacement price from a satellite measurement. Its buyer is a homeowner planning a large project, the kind of buyer a remodeler sells to. Its rebuilt site went live on April 15, 2026 with 1,403 pages built around how homeowners search, such as cost by city and overlay against tear-off. At their September peak, its estimated search visits were more than 100x the April level, with 1,455 keywords in the top 10 (SquareDash story).

CapOut sells software that turns insurance estimate PDFs into Xactimate files for roofing and restoration contractors. At its peak, its estimated search traffic was 10x the level before its new pages went live (CapOut story). Neither company is a general contractor, and both results are estimated search traffic, not booked jobs.

When a contractor marketing specialist fits better

Another firm is the better buy in these cases:

  • You want the lowest posted price we found. Footbridge Media’s $249 bundle covers a website, local SEO, review tools and a CRM, with no contract.
  • A month-to-month term matters most. Footbridge Media and Mass Monopoly describe month-to-month terms. Growigami’s minimum is three months.
  • You want to train someone in-house. Hook’s list describes Contractor Dynamics as a training model: videos, group coaching and planning so your own person runs the marketing. It works only with roofing and exterior companies.
  • You want a firm built around remodelers. Hook’s list names Builder Funnel for remodelers and custom home builders, and Contractor Growth Network for remodeling and design-build firms.

Growigami fits when you want pages, ads and follow-up on every inquiry and bid run for you each week at a posted price. Our pages for roofing companies, plumbers, HVAC companies and electricians cover the same model for those trades.

Questions

Common questions about contractor marketing services

How much do contractor marketing services cost?

At Growigami each process starts at $1,999 a month and costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month. Ad spend is paid at cost. Of the six first-page results we read, four post prices: Footbridge Media charges $249 a month and Mass Monopoly $999. Hook Agency charges $3,750 a month for local SEO, and Blue Corona quotes $2,500 to over $10,000 a month by package.

How much should a contractor spend on marketing?

Mass Monopoly's FAQ puts it at 5 to 10% of target revenue. For a contractor doing $500K to $1M a year, it says that means $2,500 to $5,000 a month, including ad spend and management fees. If all $5,000 went to search ads at LocaliQ's median of $165.67 per general contractor lead, it would buy about 30 leads by our arithmetic. One Growigami process starts at $1,999 a month.

Can I just buy contractor leads?

You can, from lead marketplaces. Marketing 360's FAQ warns that with shared leads you are bidding against other contractors for the same homeowner. Google's Local Services Ads also charge for leads, and Google says you pay only for leads related to your business. Our Paid process runs your Local Services Ads next to your Google and Meta campaigns.

Is PPC or SEO better for a contractor?

Each does a different job. PPC buys a place in this week's searches, at a median $5.31 a click for general contractors in LocaliQ's 2025 data. SEO builds pages that keep drawing visits after they are published, with no per-click cost. Our Search process publishes 200 pages a month at the base size, and our Paid process runs the ads. You can start with either.

Do you guarantee contractor leads?

Growigami does not promise a lead count. Each process has a scope you can check, such as pages published and bids followed up. You read what it produced in your CRM. If the numbers do not justify the price, you can leave with 30 days' notice after the first three months.

How much of my time does contractor marketing take?

Most of it goes into the setup. You give us read access to your CRM, and your CRO builds the first process with you, usually in about three weeks. After that, we do the weekly work and you read what it produced in your CRM. Replies and bid follow-ups arrive drafted. You can see any ad or page before it runs.

How long is the contract?

The minimum is three months, and after that you can leave with 30 days' notice. Footbridge Media and Mass Monopoly describe month-to-month terms on their own pages. All Contractor goes month to month after a first engagement whose length its page does not give. If a month-to-month term matters more to you than who does the weekly work, Footbridge or Mass Monopoly is the better fit.

Do you build contractor websites?

Yes, as a one-time project priced apart from the monthly processes. The website is $7,499, paid in full or over 12 months, and takes about four weeks, with your old content moved over. Landing pages for your ads come with the Paid process, up to two new pages a month.

Get contractor marketing off your desk.

Give us read access to your CRM. Within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.
