Portland firms tend to buy search one of two ways: an SEO retainer quoted on a call, or software someone on staff runs. Growigami is a third option. Your CRO maps the questions, and we publish 200 pages a month for $1,999.

Which industries define the Portland-Vancouver metro?
County Business Patterns draws the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metro from seven counties. Five are in Oregon: Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill. Clark and Skamania are in Washington. The Census Bureau describes a metro area as a core with a large population nucleus, plus adjacent communities that are highly integrated with it economically and socially.
County Business Patterns counted 72,943 employer establishments in the metro for 2023, with 1,111,602 employees in the week of March 12. Average pay was $72,656, which is $7,932 above Oregon and $4,314 above the US. Establishments here average 15.2 employees, against 13.9 statewide. Of them, 25.0 percent have 10 to 99 employees, a hair above Oregon at 24.7 percent and the US at 24.6. Salem, Eugene, Bend and four other metros are compared on the Oregon page.
The first nine rows below are the Growigami verticals most concentrated here, chiropractors first. Computer systems design follows as the one furthest under the US share, and the last two rows count the metro’s own marketing firms.

Source: U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023 (employer establishments; employees are for the week of March 12; average pay is annual payroll divided by employees, computed by Growigami).
The last column compares each sector’s slice of metro jobs with its slice of US jobs, so 2.14x means a little over double.
The 506 chiropractic offices rank 16th of 385 metros by count and lead the table on concentration, which is the practice our chiropractor marketing page is written for. Among the trades, 567 electrical contractor establishments pay an average of $95,772 against $76,545 nationally (electrician marketing). The 785 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors have 12,098 people on payroll (HVAC marketing), and the 991 landscaping establishments run at 1.20 times the US share of jobs (landscaping marketing).
Software is the B2B story. The 332 software publishers employ 12,019 people at 1.50 times the US share and rank 15th of 255 metros (SaaS marketing). Greater Portland Inc, the regional economic development group, reports 36,300 local software jobs and 44,500 in computers and electronics in its May 2025 overview, from JobsEQ data. Its list of the largest traded-sector employers puts Intel first at 22,328, followed by Nike at 15,522 and Lam Research at 4,000. The overview credits that list to the Portland Business Journal and The Oregonian.
Manufacturing employs 118,458 people across 3,084 establishments, 16th among metros by count, at an average of $86,986 (manufacturing marketing). USTR records $33.8 billion in goods exports from the metro in 2024. The same Greater Portland overview names Daimler Trucks North America, Columbia Sportswear and adidas among the ten largest traded-sector employers, with headquarters offices in the region.
The metro’s own agencies and consultants
The metro has 199 advertising agency establishments with 2,278 employees and 570 marketing consulting establishments with 3,696. Both hold more than their US share of jobs, at 1.43 and 1.47 times. Both pay above the national average for the industry: $112,866 at the agencies against $106,841, and $102,582 in consulting against $83,009. By count they rank 19th of 304 and 21st of 365 metros.
What Growigami runs for Portland-Vancouver firms
Week to week, AI agents turn your staff’s answers into page drafts and messages, and the pages go live on a set monthly schedule. Your CRO has run marketing and sales teams before, and sets the process up alongside your people, then judges it by what shows up in your CRM. Your staff answer questions on short calls and handle the calls and leads that come in.

Search is the core process here. It publishes 200 pages a month at the base size, each one answering a question a Portland buyer asks. Every month we test those questions in ChatGPT and Perplexity to see who gets named. AI search optimization has more on how that test works.
Map pack work belongs to Paid and creative, a separate process with its own $1,999 monthly price. That process handles Local Services Ads on Google and Business Profile upkeep. It also manages Google and Meta campaigns on ad budgets up to $25,000 a month, billed at cost. The ad copy is drafted by AI agents, and the process builds as many as two fresh landing pages a month.
For a software firm or a manufacturer selling to named accounts, the Pipeline process researches 500 target accounts a month and writes a message to each contact. Your seller sends it from their own inbox, and replies come back to them the same day.
The CRO review is an add-on. $1,499 a month buys a monthly session on the whole system, and $2,999 a weekly one. Skip it, and your staff set the priorities while the processes keep running.
When a Portland SEO shop with an office fits better
You want to sit down with the team. SEO Growth Partners lists an office on SE Division Street, and Brilliance, pdxseo.net and Thrive’s Portland page also print Portland street addresses.
You want month-to-month from the first invoice. SEO Growth Partners, Brilliance and Thrive sell month-to-month, and SEO Services, Inc. says it has no SEO contracts. Our minimum is three months.
Your SEO budget sits near $850 a month. That is the average SEO Growth Partners gives for its Portland clients, and Thrive starts small-business SEO at $500. Both are well under one of our processes.
The job is a shoot at your clinic, shop or job site. A Portland crew can drive over. Our Video process works from short calls and screen recordings.
Choose Growigami when a written scope and a posted price matter more to you than a local office.
Talk to sales. Give us read access to your CRM, and within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.
Questions
What Portland firms ask an SEO company before signing
What does a Portland SEO company actually do?
It researches what your customers type into Google or ask an AI assistant, then writes and fixes pages so your firm shows up for those searches. Portland firms also hire SEO companies for Google Business Profile work, and Brilliance and SEO Services, Inc. both sell local SEO. Our Search process publishes 200 pages a month; Business Profile work belongs to our Paid process.
Should I trust a first-page guarantee?
Read it closely, because Google's own guidance says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Ask which searches it covers and by what date. Then ask what you get back if it misses. Growigami does not promise rankings. The Search process commits to a page count, 200 a month, and a monthly check of which AI answers name you.
When do SEO results show up?
Over months. Sproutbox, a Portland agency, tells prospects that SEO typically takes three to six months to build momentum. What we control is the start. You see the first process within a week of CRM access, and it usually runs in about three weeks. New pages go up every month from then on.
Does a firm in Vancouver, Washington count as Portland?
Yes, for the Census and for us. The Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metro takes in Clark and Skamania counties in Washington. On the results page, SEO Services, Inc. lists Vancouver among the areas it serves, and Oregon Web Solutions lists Vancouver, WA among its service locations. Pages can target Washington towns as easily as Oregon ones.
Does my SEO company need to be in Portland?
Only if you want to meet in person or need someone on site. Four of the five page-one agency pages print a Portland street address. Research, writing and publishing work the same from anywhere, and the local detail comes from your own staff. Growigami has no Portland office; setup happens over video.
What is the minimum commitment?
three months at least, and after that 30 days' notice to leave. That is longer than the page-one firms selling month-to-month: SEO Growth Partners, Brilliance and Thrive. SEO Services, Inc. says it has no SEO contracts. For the minimum you get a fixed scope, 200 pages a month at $1,999.
Can I read a page before it goes live?
Yes. You approve each page before it goes live, and approved pages publish on the schedule set when your CRO builds the process.
