What an auditor asks for after a temperature excursion

The reading is the easy part. The auditor wants to see what your team did in the minutes after it.

Under the FDA Food Code, cold-held food stays at 41°F or below.1

Across 140 warehouses on Dockmere, the median excursion at a dock door was closed in 18 minutes in September.2

Fennick probes report every 60 seconds, so the timeline has no gaps.4

The local plans also cover Google Business Profile work, citations and reporting, so the page counts do not tell the whole story. At Growigami, Business Profile work sits in the separate Paid process. Our Search process is $1,999 a month for 200 pages, and the 500-page size costs $1,499 more. A process costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month.

Semrush’s Charleston SEO list shows 5 firms with a Charleston office, and their budget bands per project start between $1,000 and $5,000. Every process we sell is on our price list.

Does a Charleston SEO company need a local office?

Two of the page-one firms answer that by how they work. Belman & Co.’s own FAQ says no, and it serves Charleston clients from Myrtle Beach by phone, video and email. Shellback SEO, based in Parker, Colorado, says it travels to Charleston for client meetings while the day-to-day work is done remotely. Holy City Web Design signs its page from Charleston.

For the pages themselves, the Charleston detail comes out of interviews with your staff. They know which parts of the Lowcountry you cover, from Mount Pleasant to Summerville. They also know what callers ask before they book. A local office adds value for face-to-face meetings, and less for the writing.

Charleston’s employers, by Census count

County Business Patterns counts three counties in the Charleston-North Charleston metro: Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester. The Census glossary says each metro area needs an urbanized core of at least 50,000 inhabitants, together with adjacent communities that have a high degree of economic and social integration with that core. Our South Carolina page compares this metro with the state’s others.

In 2023 the metro had 22,892 employer establishments, 18.6 percent of the state’s, and 321,692 employees in the week of March 12. Average pay of $58,757 ran $5,796 above South Carolina’s and $9,585 below the US average. The establishments are small: 14.1 employees each on average, against 16.8 statewide and 16.7 nationally. Of them, 25.5 percent had 10 to 99 employees, close to the state’s 25.6 percent and above the US 24.6 percent.

The first nine rows are the sectors in our data most concentrated in the metro. Manufacturing follows as the largest employer of any sector we track, and the last two rows are the local marketing firms.

Boeing, the port and the software firms

Boeing said in November 2025 that its South Carolina operation, home of the 787 Dreamliner program, employs more than 8,200 people across North Charleston and Orangeburg. At that month’s groundbreaking for its site expansion, it said it is investing more than $1 billion and plans more than 1,000 new jobs over five years. The metro’s 546 manufacturing establishments employ 29,842 people, the most of any sector in the table (manufacturing marketing).

SC Ports calls itself the 8th largest US container port and handled 2.6 million TEUs in fiscal 2025, with 165,949 finished vehicles crossing its docks. BMW said in March 2026 that its Spartanburg exports leave mainly through the Port of Charleston. Firms that move freight through those docks are who our logistics marketing page addresses, and USTR credits the metro with $9.5 billion in goods exports in 2024.

The 39 software publishers employ 2,951 people, about 76 per establishment, at $138,754 average pay and 1.27 times the US share of jobs (SaaS marketing).

The practices behind the local searches

What Growigami runs for Charleston practices and B2B firms

The weekly drafting is done by AI agents, working from your staff’s answers and a publishing calendar your CRO sets. Your CRO, who has led marketing and sales teams, shapes the page plan with your staff and reviews it against what your CRM shows. Your people give short interviews and keep handling the sales calls and the jobs.

The pages, and the monthly AI check

A Charleston firm on the base size of our Search process gets 200 new pages a month; the larger size makes it 500. One page takes one buyer question, such as the cost of a pest treatment or a closing, and answers it the way your staff would. The monthly report then lists which ChatGPT and Perplexity answers to those questions mention you. The method behind that report is on our AI search optimization page.

Google Business Profile work belongs to a second process, Paid, which carries its own $1,999 monthly price. That process handles the Business Profile, runs Local Services Ads and manages two ad channels on spend of up to $25,000 a month, billed at cost. Agents write the ad copy, and up to two new landing pages are built each month.

Outbound for port and aerospace suppliers

Selling into Boeing’s supply chain or to the shippers at the terminals is a named-account job. Our outbound process takes your target list, researches 500 of those accounts each month and writes to every contact at them. Your seller reviews each message and sends it, and interested replies reach that seller the same day.

The CRO review, if you want one

You can book your CRO for a recurring look at every process, at $1,499 a month for monthly sessions or $2,999 for weekly. It is an add-on. Firms that pass on it still have each process running, with their own staff choosing what comes next.

What does a marketing hire cost in Charleston?

BLS put the metro’s median at $65,650 for market research analysts and marketing specialists and $138,790 for marketing managers in May 2025. Both fall below the South Carolina medians of $69,440 and $143,290. BLS counts 2,160 specialists and 800 marketing managers working in the metro. One hire covers every channel; a Growigami process covers one, at $1,999 a month.

When a Charleston-based SEO firm fits better

  • Your budget is under one process. Holy City Web Design’s Local SEO plan is $400 a month and its Growth plan $800, both below $1,999.
  • You want to meet in person. Holy City lists its studio in Charleston, and Shellback says it travels to the city for client meetings.
  • You sell to visitors. Belman lists hospitality, tourism and weddings among the trades the Charleston economy runs on, and a consumer brand that needs on-site shoots is better served locally. Our processes are built for B2B buyers and for professional and home-service firms.
  • You need photos or video from your office or job sites. We record people over short calls or build video from screen footage, so a local crew wins when the shoot has to happen in person.

If the work you need is mostly search, start with 200 pages a month at a posted price and decide on ads or outbound later.

Talk to sales. Give us read access to your CRM, and within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.

Questions

Questions to put to any Charleston SEO company

How much does an SEO company cost in Charleston?

Posted plans on page one run from $400 to $4,500 a month. Holy City Web Design charges $400 or $800 after a 6-month minimum. Shellback SEO charges $1,000, $2,500 or $4,500 month to month. Thrive's SEO pricing page estimates small-business SEO from $500 a month. Belman & Co. quotes after an audit. Growigami's Search process is $1,999 a month for 200 pages, three months, then 30 days' notice.

What does an SEO company do?

It works on the reasons Google and AI assistants would or would not show your firm, and fixes them. On page one, Holy City and Shellback list Business Profile work, citations, new service pages and monthly reports. Our Search process covers the pages, 200 a month, plus a monthly AI-answer report; Business Profile work is part of our Paid process.

Does my SEO company need a Charleston office?

Belman & Co. answers no on its own Charleston page and works with Charleston clients from Myrtle Beach by phone, video and email. Shellback SEO is based in Parker, Colorado, with a Charleston phone desk. Growigami is remote as well and has no Charleston office or staff. Of the four, Holy City Web Design is the one that lists its studio in Charleston.

How long does SEO take in Charleston?

Months, by the ranking firms' own estimates. Holy City says meaningful movement usually shows in 3 to 6 months, with map pack gains sooner. Shellback expects Maps and local terms to move in 60 to 90 days and competitive terms in about six months. Our part is the start: the first pages usually publish about three weeks after setup begins.

Will 200 pages a month count as spam?

Not if each page helps a reader. Google's spam policies call out large amounts of unoriginal content with little value to users, no matter how it's created. Our pages are built on interviews: a real buyer question, answered in your staff's words, with Charleston detail only where it is true. You approve each page before it publishes.

Will you promise a first-page ranking?

No. Holy City's FAQ puts it plainly: no honest SEO firm guarantees rankings. What we put in writing is the output: 200 pages every month and a report on which AI answers mention your firm. Judge it on your CRM over the minimum term of three months; after that, 30 days' notice ends it.

Does Growigami do more than SEO for Charleston firms?

Yes. Each channel is its own process at $1,999 a month: paid ads with Local Services Ads and Business Profile work, outreach to named accounts and replies to inbound leads. A firm looking for a digital marketing agency in Charleston can start with search and add a second process once the first earns it.

Publish your first 200 Charleston pages.

Give us read access to your CRM. Within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.
