What an auditor asks for after a temperature excursion

The reading is the easy part. The auditor wants to see what your team did in the minutes after it.

Under the FDA Food Code, cold-held food stays at 41°F or below.1

Across 140 warehouses on Dockmere, the median excursion at a dock door was closed in 18 minutes in September.2

Fennick probes report every 60 seconds, so the timeline has no gaps.4

Directories and lists fill the rest of the page. Built In SF lists 29 SEO companies for the Bay Area. The Business Rover, an agency that ranks itself third on its own list of eight (updated 30 September 2026), estimates retained programs from established Bay Area agencies at about $3,000 to $15,000 a month. It adds that anything under $1,000 a month in this market is usually templated work.

At Growigami, 200 pages a month cost $1,999, and the 500-page size adds $1,499. A process costs $500 more in its first month while we build it, and your first build is on us this month.

Is Bay Area SEO more expensive than other markets?

The Business Rover says yes, and ties agency rates to local salaries. Public data covers only the pay side. BLS put the metro’s median marketing specialist at $123,250 in May 2025, $28,550 above California’s $94,700 and $44,490 above the US median. Census pay for the metro’s advertising agencies averaged $153,429 in 2023, against $106,841 nationally.

Do Bay Area firms need an SEO company with an SF office?

Rover’s answer is “only if you want in-person meetings”, and it notes that half the agencies on its list serve Bay Area clients from other cities. Rover itself is remote, with team members in the US, Armenia and Germany. Coalition describes full-time offices around the globe.

What a Bay Area search page needs most is knowledge your team already has: how your product compares, which integrations matter, what prospects ask on demos. Your CRO gets it in video interviews with product, sales and support. A firm that wants weekly meetings in person should hire locally.

The five-county metro in Census data

In County Business Patterns, the San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont metro is five counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo. Santa Clara County sits in a separate Census metro, San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara. Metro areas, delineated by the Office of Management and Budget, are made of whole counties, starting from a core urban area with a population of 50,000 or above and adding counties tied to it by commuting.

The five counties counted 133,246 employer establishments in 2023, 12.9 percent of the state’s total, with 2,417,363 people on payroll during the March 12 week. Pay averaged $129,839: 1.49 times California’s $87,119 and 1.90 times the national $68,342. Establishments with 10 to 99 employees make up 24.2 percent, a little above California’s 23.0 and just under the US figure of 24.6. The California page sets the metro beside the state’s others.

The first nine rows are the sectors, of the 20 in Growigami’s data set, where the metro’s share of jobs runs highest against the US; dental offices and manufacturing follow for comparison. Share of jobs vs US divides the metro’s share of employment in a sector by the national share.

Software, finance and the big employers

The metro’s 1,504 software publishers outnumber those in every other US metro and pay $251,324 on average, against $201,426 nationally (SaaS marketing). Computer systems design, the Census group that includes firms managing and running clients’ computer systems, has 5,029 establishments at 2.41 times the national employment share (MSP marketing). Investment advice runs to 544 establishments paying $260,607 on average (financial advisor marketing).

The 2,990 real estate offices pay $144,025 on average, against $79,090 for the US (real estate marketing). Residential remodelers number 2,924, seventh among US metros (general contractor marketing).

Salesforce gives its SEC business address as Salesforce Tower, 415 Mission Street, and Uber gives 1725 3rd Street, both in San Francisco. Gilead Sciences files from 333 Lakeside Drive in Foster City, San Mateo County. The metro exported $23.8 billion in goods in 2024, by USTR’s count.

Marketing firms already in the five counties

There are 328 advertising agency establishments, eighth among 304 metros, and 1,201 marketing consulting establishments, eighth among 365. Advertising agencies’ employment share here is 2.04 times the national one. Marketing consulting pays $132,532 on average, against $83,009 nationally.

What Growigami runs for Bay Area software firms

Each week AI agents write pages from your team’s interviews and post them on the agreed schedule. The CRO assigned to you designs and proves the process, working with product and sales before it starts, then judges it on CRM numbers. Your people join short calls and run the demos.

Search and AI answers

Search delivers 200 pages each month at the base size and 500 at the larger one. For a software company those are comparison pages, integration pages, use cases and plain definitions. Each is aimed at Google rankings and at citations in ChatGPT and Perplexity. A monthly run of your buyers’ questions through those assistants shows where you are named. Our SaaS SEO page goes deeper on the software case.

LinkedIn for founders

A separate LinkedIn process covers your company page and two of your people. Each gets three posts a week and one LinkedIn article a month, drafted from short calls and voice notes.

Outbound to named accounts

Outbound studies 500 target companies a month and opens each note with a current reason to talk, such as a new head of sales or a fresh funding round. Your seller checks and sends every note, and interested replies reach them that day.

Each of these is a separate process at $1,999 a month. A CRO review is optional and extra: $1,499 a month for monthly sessions or $2,999 for weekly ones.

When a Bay Area agency or an SEO hire is the better call

  • You want your agency in the room. Proleadsoft lists a head office on 18th Street in San Francisco. Weekly in-person sessions favor a firm nearby.
  • You need a small, fixed scope. Thrive’s SF plans begin at $500 monthly; Panem’s audits begin at $600.
  • You want SEO owned by one person on staff. The metro’s median marketing specialist earned $123,250 in May 2025, and that hire can also sit in product meetings.
  • You are before product-market fit. The Business Rover advises waiting on a content program until you can describe your category and buyer precisely.

Growigami is built for a Bay Area B2B company that wants a fixed monthly page count, a public price and a monthly view of its AI citations.

Talk to sales. Give us read access to your CRM, and within a week we show you the first process we would build and what it would produce.

Questions

Questions Bay Area firms ask an SEO company

What should an SEO company in San Francisco deliver?

Pages and fixes that put your site in front of Bay Area buyers on Google and in AI answers. For a software firm those include comparison, integration and use-case pages. Growigami's Search process publishes 200 a month, drafted from interviews with your team, and reports monthly on which AI answers name you.

What do Bay Area SEO firms charge?

Posted prices on page one start at $500 a month at Thrive and $1,100 at Panem, whose B2B and SaaS plan starts at $1,300. The Business Rover's Bay Area list, updated 30 September 2026, estimates retained programs from established Bay Area agencies at about $3,000 to $15,000 a month. Proleadsoft and Coalition post no price. Our Search process runs $1,999 monthly at the 200-page size.

Is a San Francisco SEO agency better than a remote one?

Only for in-person meetings. The Business Rover is a remote agency that ranks itself third on its own Bay Area list. It says half the agencies on that list serve Bay Area clients from other cities. Growigami is remote too. Its pages draw on video interviews with your team, which works the same from anywhere.

When do Bay Area software firms see SEO move?

Months for competitive terms. The Business Rover's FAQ says competitive SaaS and fintech terms usually take three to six months of consistent work. We make no date or ranking promise. Our side of the timeline is the start: the process is usually running roughly three weeks from CRM access, and 200 pages publish every month after.

Will you promise more traffic?

No. Proleadsoft's page offers a guaranteed increase in organic traffic; we do not, because Google and the AI assistants decide what to show. We commit to the output: 200 pages a month and a monthly report on which answers name you. Every page can wait for your sign-off before publishing.

What does an SEO specialist earn in San Francisco?

Far more than the US median. O*NET counts search marketing strategists as part of occupation 13-1161. BLS put the median for that occupation in San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont at $123,250 in May 2025, against $78,760 nationally. Marketing managers in the metro earned a median $220,480.

Does Growigami have staff in the Bay Area?

None. Our team is remote, with no Bay Area office or staff. We name no clients there. Your CRO interviews your team on video, and drafts reach you in Slack before pages go live on your site. If you want an agency with a local address, Proleadsoft lists a head office on 18th Street in San Francisco.
